Institutions automatically receive a fixed extra amount for offering shortened mbo programmes that meet labour market needs. The board does not need to apply for this funding. 

The amount is based on the total number of students who were enrolled at the institution and attended programmes there on 1 October of the previous calendar year. Payment is made each month together with the basic funding (lump sum).
