Additional funding
Institutions may also receive additional funding. In some cases, this is paid out automatically. In other cases, boards must apply for it.
Special developments
In the event of special developments, the Minister may decide that additional funding is necessary. The Minister sets out the conditions and determines whether institutions receive this funding automatically or if they must apply for it.
Special circumstances
The additional funding in special circumstances is on request. The board must apply for it. Either via the National Office for the Caribbean Netherland (RCN) or via the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) in the calendar year in which the exceptional circumstances take place.
Workload management
Institutions receive additional funding to ease staff workload and develop workload reduction policies. The additional funding is based on the number of students who were enrolled at the institution and attended programmes there on 1 October of the previous calendar year.
Payments
DUO determines the initial additional funding for workload reduction by May at the latest. Institutions receive this funding automatically each month in equal amounts. The first payment will also include all back-dated amounts.
The board receives the final decision by December of the same calendar year at the latest. The audit result and developments in wages and prices may lead to changes that affect the final decision. This can change the funding amount.
Accountability
The board must report the spending using the ‘Statement form work pressure funding’ as part of the Annual reporting.
