Fixed added amount

Schools automatically receive a fixed added amount for special circumstances. The board does not need to apply for this.

The amount is based on the total number of pupils who were enrolled at the school and attended classes there on 1 October of the previous calendar year. If the requirements are met, you will see the funding subject in the financial breakdown of the basic funding. Payment is made each month together with the basic funding (lump sum).

Pupils with specific educational needs

Schools receive an added amount for minor care support for pupils with specific educational needs. This amount is 40% of the basic funding.

Wages, price level and examination costs

Schools on Saba and Sint Eustatius receive an added amount due to the high wage and price level and high examination costs. This is 36% of the total amount of the basic funding and the added amount for pupils with specific educational needs.

Isolated location and small scale

Schools on Saba and Sint Eustatius receive an added amount when the school is in an isolated location and is small in scale. It can be spent on staff and materials. There are different amounts depending on the number of pupils at the school:

  • 50 pupils or less
  • 51 to 100
  • 101 to 150
  • 151 to 200
